On page 6, at the end of the first paragraph, there is a contradictory statement made, saying that once a figure makes an attack action, it may then not move again.
It then goes on to state that after a close combat strike, it can move again, "if it can".
A little clarification on that point would be appreciated.
Does this mean if the character making an attack action isn't floored, or hasn't been injured, it may move away, if desired?
Is this referring only to characters with a special ability, e.g. non-standard characters?
Is the additional move referring to another separate character that passes a kyu check, after the actions of the previous one have been completed?

It isn't contradictory - remember a character can do mutiple actions - so if it hits at the end of a move action THAT move action is over (you can't move half a length, hit, and then carry on) but if the complete is completed and they have another ACTION free they can then move off again. They get a free hit at them if they break away from combat however.
Some weapons have mover and hit rules - so not really non standard characters - some non standard characters are able to make more than one attack however remember.
