A another question this one about weapons.
Given for example a Katana there is not differance in weapons effect based on who has the weapon other then Bu, excluding combat mods.
So an Ashigaru with a Katana has a bu of 2 while the samura has a bu of 3. Again damage would require the Samurai to roll a 6 while the Ashigaru must roll a one, any other roll (except a 6) would mean that no damge would be possible only a push back? Is that correct?
Thanks William

Yes, again...in a one-on-one stand up fight.... Try to wound them with missile fire or maybe send a couple of lesser troops in to pin them and finish them off with your Samurai? Cheers Andy ;D

Also....in the lists in the book Ashigaru can be armed with Shoto and Kyu or Yari......so no Katanas for them.
Katanas were a Samurai status symbol ? And lowly Ashugaru wouldn't have them.
Cheers Andy ;D

Don't forget you can do a powerful blow. So Ash with 2 +2 and Sam with 3 and 2 plus a powerful blow which takes Ash down to 3. Making it more likely to double. Otherwise it would be fairly even on the whole, a 6 will knock down of course ... whack the Bu up to 4 and you are in for some better action The subtle effects of a powerful blow are not to be underestimated.
